5 Sighs That Something Is Wrong With Your Tree

While having trees around are always beneficial both to the health of residents of said environment and to the environment itself, sometimes the tree itself is not as healthy as it might seem.

Just as the health of any single person is not something to ignore, so is the health of your tree. Just like humans, trees can be healthy or sick. They can also die. This is obviously something you do not want to happen.

How do you know when your tree is not in top shape though? This blog provides a list of 5 signs that show something is wrong with your tree as provided by professional arborists around you.

1.   Leaning Tree

This is probably as big a sign as you could ever come across. Trees are meant to grow tall and strong. While not all trees grow straight, every healthy tree has a solid build with a firm connection to the ground and its roots.

When a tree seems to be leaning or tilting to one side, this is more often than not, a sign that something is very wrong. This should be looked into immediately as not only the tree might be in danger, but also the people living in the area.

2.   Excessive Broken Branches

A tree that frequently loses branches is one that needs looking into. While it is normal for trees to lose branches from time to time, which would increase during a storm, a tree that loses branches regularly definitely has a problem that needs looking into as soon as possible.

3.   “Wrong” Leaves

Sometimes the only sign you’d need to know that something is very wrong with your tree comes around spring ─ its leaves.

The leaves of each tree have a set look to them. There is the way they are supposed to look, and there is the way they are not. If you notice your tree producing leaves that do not look like its usual ones ─ with a different colour, size or shape ─  you probably need to get an arborist to check it out.

4.   Fungi Growth

Fungi are known to feed off dead tissue, so seeing these creatures on your tree is a sign that something is wrong with that are ─ it is either dead or dying. This needs to be treated as soon as possible if you are to prevent the conditions from getting worse.

5.   Absence Of Leaves, Flowers Or Fruits

While this is normal during winter, it is a sure warning sign any other time of the year. When you observe that your tree is lacking leaves, flowers or fruits on some parts (or the entirety), that’s a good sign that something is very wrong.
